About Ipsy: Each month, subscribers will receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.
I have been getting Ipsy bags now since November 2013. When you first sign up you take a Beauty Quiz that helps to try and tailor your bags to what you like and dont like. You get 4-5 samples each month plus a makeup bag for the month. I dont always love everything that comes in my bag each month but there are months where I will love most if not everything in my bag so it has been worth it for me to stick with it.
If you love to try new products before you buy them or just like to experiment with makeup you should check it out! It is also great for makeup newbies like I was who may not really know what to buy or what brands to get. Trying to figure out what to buy can be so overwhelming with so many options out there these days so I love being able to try things out and experiment with different products and colors.
What I received:
Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color: I was so excited to be getting this and couldn’t wait to try it out. As with anything I wasn’t sure if the color would work for me or how well it would go on but it met and exceeded all of my expectations. It goes on so smoothly and I even layered it with my Mary Kay At Play Baked Eye Trio in Neapolitan and it looked great! I think it might be too much on its own aside from certain occasions but I plan to layer it with other colors and it is definitely one of my favorite eye shadows I have received.
Crown Brush Professional Tweezers: Another great gem from this months bag! I was just thinking about how I needed to pick up a new set and then saw I would be getting these. They work great and dont miss a single hair. Tweezers are tweezers and since these worked perfectly thats about all I can say about these! 🙂
City Color Cosmetics HD Powder: I wasn’t really sure if I would like this or not since usually I am not a huge fan of the white translucent powder. I usually like mine to be matched with my foundation and always feel like the translucent ones make me way too pale. I am still undecided if I love this yet or not but thankfully I can say it did not make me pale and it went on perfectly. I think I prefer the better coverage I feel my regular powder provides but this product does seem to work just as well just going to give it a few more tries before I decide one way or another.
Jor’el Parker Classico: I cant say I was excited to be getting in a perfume since I generally dont like the smell of any I ever get but I actually really liked this. It is completely different from what I normally go for and it is a tad bit strong so I have to remember to go light but I do like the scent. It is a roll on too which I figured would bother me but it hasn’t been a big deal and with how strong it is just a small roll on my wrist and neck is equal to a full on body spray of my regular stuff. I cant say it has become my new favorite, I think I will just always be a Victoria Secret’s Love Spell girl but I do really like it and have been using it since I got it in.
Pur~Lisse Pur-Bright ultra skin brightening cream: I have received a few Pur~Lisse products in the past and they have always been pretty decent and though this one leaves my skin feeling really soft it is just way too oily for me. I am not quite sure if it works so far as brightening goes but I just cant use it long enough to find out with how oily my skin gets right after using it.
Here you can see the cute little makeup bag that came with all of my goodies this month. Its not one of my all time favorites but its still cute. I normally keep only the bags I love and give the rest away to family and friends. The other little black stick you see is a sharpener that came with the eye shadow. I would say overall I am extremely happy with this months bag. There was only one product that just isn’t for me and when you think of how much each of these items cost on their own the $10 a month is worth it for me!
If you want to check out Ipsy head here and if you decide to try it out let us know how you liked it! There is a wait list so if you are interested in starting to get bags I wouldn’t wait to sign up. Have you ever tried Ipsy? What was your opinion on it or your best and worst product you received?
